Cystic Fibrosis















































Summary:






  • Cystic Fibrosis is a lung disease that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestion area. It is one of the most common lung disease in childern and young adults.


  • This disease started in the 1930s, its first written history was by a peditrician named Dr. Fanconi. Dr. Dorthy Anderson, was the first person to give the disease discription.


  • Cystic Fibrosis causes problems in digestion and in the lungs. The mucus builds up in the lungs, it is a recessive disease. The type of chromosomes that are affected are chromosomes that control salt and water movements in and out of the cells.


  • It is diagnosed through sweat test,blood test, chest x-ray test, sinus x-ray test and cat scan test.


  • Antibootics, Vitamins, Mineral supplies and other medications are treatments for cystic Fibrosis.


  • As of right now there is no prevention of Cystic Fibrosis because it is inheirted.


  • As of today research, scientist are still trying to find a way to prevent the disease.
